A couple of years ago you could find Ian Wood (AKA Psychologist) on MySpace making rather average almost-dubstep demos, but new EP Waves Of Ok is a million miles away from his initial forays into music. An exceptional record with James Blake style silences, sparse percussion and fractured vocals, Psychologist’s simplicity lends his music a sense of powerfulness often un-matched these days.
