Dirty Seattle garage punks The Spits have been producing records and trashing house parties for over ten years without rising to the levels of prominence enjoyed by contemporaries such as the Black Lips and King Khan. It’s curious, given the fact that below the fuzz lurks a melodic streak which rears its head time and time again. Highlights of last album Vol. IV like Tonight and Eyesore City are over before you know they’ve begun, but burrow into your head and refuse to leave, very much like a member of the Spits who’s crashed on your sofa. Scruffy bastards.
