TURBOWOLF (Hassle)

Turbowolf

16/20

My God, we’ve been waiting for this one. Across a number of EP releases in the last few years we’ve been positively salivating over Bristol’s rock titans Turbowolf. Their self-titled debut is a pulsating 39-minute smash through how damn interesting, bone-shaking and compelling hard-rock can be when done properly. Add into the mix some classic-rock imagery that keeps them visually entertaining while staying the right side of heavy metal cliché and a couple of absolute stand-out anthems in Ancient Snake and A Rose For The Crows and you have a compelling listen without shackles. The best thing about this album is its wonderful anthemic brutality is transferred into their live shows, which are quite frankly fucking awesome. A brilliant debut.
