Rogues
Pop is a much maligned genre conjuring images of shit boy bands from the '90s and early '00s like 911, Westlife and if you have the shittest music taste of all time – Phixx. But before that onslaught there was Roxy Music, Human League and Duran Duran. You know, pop groups where the members actually wrote their own music and played their own instruments. Meet Rogues; modern purveyors of the latter category. Five-piece with shiny guitars, catchy lyrics and a whole load of charm, these songs sit brilliantly on the radio and for that reason they are unbelievably refreshing.
