Azealia Banks to star in RZA-directed ‘music drama’

Azealia Banks

The Broke with Expensive Taste rapper will take the lead role in It Doesn’t Have to Rhyme

RZA is taking another shot at directing with an 8-Mile style tale of slam poetry that will feature Azealia Banks as its heroine. It Doesn’t Have to Rhyme will also star Jill Scott, Lorraine Toussaint and Common, who will star as a mentor figure. This will be RZA’s second directorial role after his kung-fu debut The Man With the Iron Fists hit our screens in 2012.

The film commences shooting in New York this week, so in the meantime, watch Banks go all icy Medusa in her video for Ice Princess below.
