Converse Rubber Tracks program is open for submissions

Converse Rubber Tracks

Converse Rubber Tracks are offering young musicians the chance to record at Abbey Road Studios.

Converse have a long history in music, their sneakers have been seen on the feet of rock stars since rock stars existed. Their music initiative Converse Rubber Tracks aims to give something back to the community that’s supported them from the beginning. The new program has a simple premise; to give emerging artists the opportunity to record in one of 12 of the world’s greatest recording studios including London’s Abbey Road, LA’s Sunset Studio and Jamaica’s legendary Tuff Gong.

The original Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn was set up with the aim of helping young musicians gain access to recording studios for free in the US. Over the past four years, the program has expanded with Converse Rubber Tracks pop-up studios and this time they’re setting their sights on opening the doors to some of the most iconic recording studios in the world.

“Since we opened our first permanent Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn four years ago, we’ve had aspirations to elevate this program even further, hoping to extend this opportunity to artists across the globe,” said Jed Lewis, Converse’s Global Music Marketing Director. “With this new Converse Rubber Tracks program, we will unlock the doors to some of the greatest recording studios in music history and we’re ecstatic to offer this extraordinary experience to emerging artists worldwide.”

Applicants are asked to apply online by submitting a short biography along with their top three studio preferences before 24 June. If they are successful the band or artist will be taken to one of their selected studios to record their own tracks.
