Blur’s ‘Country House’ is for sale

The Grade II-listed home is on the market for two million quid

The Guardian has reported that the capacious manor that inspired their number one hit, Country House, is now on the market for a cool two million.

The home was once owned by the man behind record label Food, David Balfe, who also signed Blur back when they were just a twinkle in Britpop’s eye.

After selling Food to EMI, Balfe moved his family to the country and in doing so inspired Albarn into penning that ever-so-catchy chorus.
