Dr. Dre to release new album, his first in sixteen years

And Ice Cube says “it’s definitely a dope record”

Ice Cube appeared on an American radio show this Wednesday and announced that Dr Dre’s long-awaited follow-up to 1999’s 2001 may get to us slightly later than its slated 1 August release date – but it’s definitely coming, according to Rolling Stone.

Eminem and Kendrick Lamar will also feature on the soundtrack, as well as some kind of N.W.A reunion, although the new line-up is still unclear.

“It’s mega. It’s Dr. Dre, it’s what everybody’s been waiting for” promises Ice Cube.

The album, entirely produced by Dre, will be released as a soundtrack to Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A biopic set for release on 14 August.
