Hackney’s Moth Club shares details of opening

Moth Club will open its doors to the public in August this year

Last month we announced that a new club and venue was making its way to Hackney. Known as Moth Club, we can now confirm that the new venue will be located in an ex-Serviceman’s Club in the heart of Hackney. We can also reveal that the club will be curated by Lanzarote – that’s the folks behind The Shacklewell Arms, The Waiting Room, The Adam & Eve and The Lock Tavern.

Far from being just another venue it will apparently incorporate activities including – but not limited to – bingo, cabaret, hot breath karaoke, kraut rock karaoke, interactive film screenings, live comedy, race nights and live game shows.

After news broke that Hackney could face new stricter licensing laws it’s a victory to hear that the new club will officially launch on 3 September, however there will be two parties preceding the official opening as part of Visions festival.

7 August will see Ceremony play a special pre-Visions show while the next day, 8 August, the venue will be used as a stage for Visions festival hosting Ho99o9, Blanck Mass, Gazelle Twin, Theo Verney, The Big Moon and Claw Marks.

Watch out for more information in the coming weeks and check out some shots of the venue’s interior below.
