Charlotte Church protests outside Shell HQ

She sang in opposition to the corporation’s plans for Arctic drilling

Welsh songstress Charlotte Church has quite literally added her voice in opposition to Shell’s plans to drill the Arctic by singing songs outside the multinational’s HQ in London.

The event, organised by Greenpeace, is part of a three-year effort to stop Shell’s drilling plans that have recently been given the go ahead by Obama.

“We want to make them question what they’re doing. This is predominantly to do with the American government but it is a worldwide issue,” Church said of the decision.

Church appeared in front of hundreds of protesters to sing classic blues song This Bitter Earth and a song specially composed for the protests, Requiem for Arctic Ice.
