Glastonbury Festival donate wellies and ponchos to Calais migrants

Each year hundreds of pairs of wellingtons are left behind at Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury’s Liz Clegg has come up with an inspiring scheme to offer aid to migrants sleeping in a camp outside Calais known as the Jungle.

500 pairs of wellington boots that were left behind at this year’s Glastonbury festival have been delivered in cooperation with French charity Association Salam.

But that’s not all, there were also 2,000 unused ponchos and rain kits that have also been given to the migrant camp. The leftover items have been distributed to the camp’s inhabitants today by Clegg and the team from Association Salam.
