New Banksy exhibition rumoured to open in Weston-super-Mare

The enigmatic artist seems to be constructing a dystopian Disneyland on the beach

A new exhibition from anarchist artist Banksy seems to be under construction in a derelict lido on Weston-super-Mare seafront.

Installations have been spotted towering over the walls of the lido, all part of something that’s been whispered to be Banksy’s take on his own theme park: ‘Dismaland’, which will be a typically sideways look at the “happiest place on earth”, Disneyland.

The Bristol Post has also been sent a picture of an invite to the show that suggests a Banksy influence.

Banksy took over Bristol Museum back in 2009, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The exhibition is slated to open this weekend.

The Guardian headed down to check out the site and were told to keep their distance by security guards. See their video below.
