LCD Soundsystem aren’t set to reform

Consequence of Sound are reporting that James Murphy is due to reform his iconic act, over four years on from their unforgettable final gig at Madison Square Garden, immortalised in the form of Shut Up And Play The Hits.

While details are sparse, the website cites “several sources” who have confirmed the band are to reform in 2016, headlining “at least three” festivals both in the US and the UK. DFA Records have since retweeted the article, adding credence to the news.

UPDATE:

So this isn’t actually true, DFA Records manager Kris Peterson is telling Vulture: “LCD Soundsystem is not reuniting at Coachella next year. I’m sure some festivals have offered the group a giant tempting pile of money, but there is no truth to this. Can we all just move on with our fucking lives?”

Sorry.
