The band’s iconic live album will be reissued on 27 November
In their heyday Mayhem’s line-up consisted of four key players: Hellhammer, Necrobutcher, Euronymous and Dead. During this golden age they recorded the as-yet-unparralelled live album Live In Leipzig whilst on tour in Germany in 1990. The album consists mainly of songs from the band’s two albums with Dead on vocals – the demo Pure Fucking Armageddon and Deathcrush – and is considered an essential black metal release by many of the genre’s fans and commentators.
The first press will be limited to 1000 copies on coloured vinyl and will be released by Peaceville. You can preorder it here and see some images of the CD and vinyl reissues below.
