Former Crack cover star Fatima Al Qadiri is back with new music
With cover art featuring a Teletubby in riot gear, Brute is said to explore “the relationship between police, citizens and protest worldwide, particularly of [Qadiri’s] adopted home in the United States” and the label have added that the record “teeters between rage and despair” evinced in “restrained percussion, sampled and processed recordings of urban protest, and [Qadiri’s] signature minor progressions.”
