Next month the city of Compton will award Kendrick Lamar the key to the city
Aja Brown, the current mayor of Compton has announced on Twitter that Kendrick Lamar will receive the key to the city.
The American tradition dates back to the times when cities still had gates and represents a person’s freedom to enter and leave the city at their own will. The honour will be bestowed on Kendrick in a ceremony on 13 February. Lamar has responded to the news saying, “I appreciate that. HUBLUV”.
