You can now pre-order a book of A$AP Yams’ best tweets

A$AP Yams Gems has been created in commemoration of the first anniversary of the DIY hip-hop mogul’s death

A$AP Yams’ tragic death will be marked later this month with a book of his best tweets. New York artist Ajani Braithwaite has curated the tweets to honour the hip-hop tastemaker through the magic of his Twitter entries.

Yams died in January 2015 due to an accidental drug overdose. Long-time collaborator A$AP Rocky detailed the night Yams died in an interview with The New York Times: “I just look at his face. I look at Lou. You could just tell. We knew. I was scared. I was wilding on everybody, like, ‘Who let him do drugs?,’ even though you can’t blame nobody.”

A$AP Rocky will perform a tribute concert alongside Joey Bada$$ and Lil Uzi Vert on January 18, or Yams Day, at Terminal 5 in New York and he has confirmed that he is working on the album Yams was working on at the time of his death with the help of Yams’ “notebooks and blueprints”.

Pre-order the book here, and as a taster of what it might contain, we’ve collected a few of the most shared Yams tweets below.
