Watch Kate Moss in Massive Attack’s new video

The iconic model dances in the dark to Ritual Spirit

Massive Attack‘s last video saw Rosamund Pike attacked by an orb in a subway in one of the most terrifying dance sequences ever committed to video. Before that we saw a dancer wrestle his demons in the video for Take It There and the trip-hop progenitors have continued the theme in their latest visual.

The new clip for the Azekel-featuring Ritual Spirit remains focused on the overpowering nature of dance and features an equally famous star. Directed by 3D, Dusan Reljin and Hilde Pettersen Reljin, the video sees Kate Moss dancing in a pitch-black room to the bass-heavy throb of the Bristolian group’s latest single. The supermodel is lit only by a naked bulb as she twirls, entranced in the dark.

The video, it seems, is the result of Moss and 3D’s ongoing friendship but it also marks their first professional collaboration.

“Me and Kate have been friends for years, but had never collaborated, so last year we booked a studio with Medium and set up a shoot.” Says Massive Attack’s 3D, “During the session Kate was dancing in the dark, lighting herself with a naked bulb. She perfectly captured the essence of this track… intimate and ritualistic. We edited it back in Bristol to keep it raw with no re-touching, I didn’t want to lose the spirit of that moment.”

Moss also offered her thoughts on the collaboration, “I have always been a huge fan of Massive Attack and 3D has been a friend for many years. When he asked me to collaborate with him I didn’t have to think twice. I always thought their visuals were amazing and I was proud to be in this video.”
