Sorry London, Record Store Day is cancelled

Well, sort of…

Organisers of Soho’s annual Record Store Day street party have had to curb plans for this year’s festivities due to roadworks.

A spokeswoman for Berwick Street on behalf of landlords Shaftesbury, said “There is not going to be a music festival on this year. Due to roadworks in the area, it won’t be able to go ahead.”

All shops in the area will remain open on the day (16 April) and it’s likely that while the sound systems might not be there the people still will. Local store Phonica Records have also promised a full day of DJs, live music and more to be announced.
