With this year’s Glastonbury Festival in full swing the festival’s founder has revealed more details about their potential move to Longleat

Michael Eavis has expanded on comments he made earlier this month about Glastonbury Festival moving to Longleat in Wiltshire for a year in 2019.

Speaking to the Glastonbury Free Press – a free on-site paper – yesterday, Eavis said that “It’s really on the backburner now. But it’s something we’re looking at for the next fallow year, which is likely to be in 2019.” Before adding ““It’s important that we try another site. We could have all kinds of problems here with livestock, which could close us down. Longleat is only 18 miles down the road, and it looks like a good place if we ever did an alternative site.”

For now Glastonbury is staying in Pilton and things seem to have got off to a joyous (if slightly wet) start. This year’s festival is now in full swing and, as usual, we’ve got a team on site. Keep an eye out for our coverage of the event over the next few days.
