Marching Church announces new album, Telling It Like It Is

Best known as the singer of Iceage, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt has unveiled plans for a sophomore album

Elias Bender Rønnenfelt has arranged an all-star cast for this second album as Marching Church, Telling It Like It Is.

His band this time round features collaborator and Iceage bandmate Johan S. Weith (electric viola, guitar), Lower’s rhythm section of Kristian Emdal (bass) and Anton Rothstein (drums), Jakob Emil Lamdahl (trumpet) and Hand of Dust’s Bo Høyer Hansen (guitar). These sessions were complemented by Maaike Van der Linde (flute) and Thora Sveinsdottir (strings) of the Stargaze Orchestra, and the Choir of Young Believers’ Sonja La Bianca (saxophone), with overall production by Escho’s Nis Bysted.

The first taste of the album comes in the form of the video and download for Heart of Life, a more direct stomper than we observed on the first Marching Church album, This World Is Not Enough. Check out that video above, and the tracklisting, artwork and download via Soundcloud below.

Telling It Like It Is will be released on October 28th via Sacred Bones Records.
