Barker & Baumecker tease new realeases forthcoming on Ostgut Ton

The Berlin-based duo will drop two records before the end of the year. An EP: Love Hertz/Cipher will precede the long-player Turns

It’s been four years since Andreas Baumecker and Sam Barker added their protean Transsektoral LP to Ostgut’s esteemed catalogue. In the years succeeding it the pair have been touring their machine-heavy live show around the world as well as periodically holding court at Berghain.

That record was widely praised for the audible willingness B&B showed in drawing elements from across the electronic spectrum: electro, dubstep, hip-hop and jungle are all rattling around in there. Given the ease with which they tackled the LP format, fans will be pleased to hear that another album will follow October’s Love Hertz/Cipher EP.

Not much is known about the album beyond the title: Turns, and its release date: 25 November. The EP, on the other hand, you can hear previews of on Soundcloud. A-side Love-Hertz takes much from UK bass with digital strings riding jagged breaks; while Cipher is understood to be a club-ready version of Encipher Decipher from the upcoming LP.

Barker & Baumecker release Love Hertz/Cipher on 7 October and Turns on 25 November, both on Ostgut Ton
