LCD Soundsystem’s Beach Vibes Festival Cancelled

Earlier this year, prodigal New Yorkers LCD Soundsystem were announced as curators of Mexico’s Beach Vibes festival

Beach Vibes Festival, which was due to take place 26 – 28 January at the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico has now been cancelled. The festival was due to feature two headline sets from curators LCD Soundsystem as well as performances from Run The Jewels, Holy Ghost! and Hot Chip.

The festival’s website states that “The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike.” But that all fans who have purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded. “Beach Vibes, a destination event produced by CID Presents, has been canceled. The event was originally slated for January 27 – 29, 2017 in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, cancelling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.

Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.”
