Simple Things Festival complete 2016 lineup

Grime stalwart Kano, Squarepusher’s new Shobaleader One project and Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon have all been added to the lineup

Bristol’s Simple Things festival have added a host of new names to their lineup for 2016. First up is OG grime MC Kano who joins Warpaint, Death Grips, Ben UFO and Nina Kraviz as the festival’s final headliner.

Apart from Kano, two other very special guests have been added to the lineup. Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon – a set of alternative classics as interpreted by Charlotte Church and her band which has been a hit at festivals right across the UK – will be making it’s Bristol debut. Meanwhile Squarepusher will be bringing his brand new live project, Shobaleader One, to the festival.

Other additions to the bill include lauded psych squad Flamingods, Texan multi-instumentalist Bayonne, UK producer Iglooghost, Dutch electronic composer Klangstof, rising pop outfit Plastic Mermaids, Berlin-based producer Gramrcy and SPE:C label-boss Darwin.

The festival have also managed to make Bristol is well represented with post-punk favourites Idles, garage rock slingers Van Zeller, rising electro-pop artist Stevie Parker and ambient producers Dot Product. A host of Bristol DJs and party collectives will also be making waves at this year’s festival the Pardon My French terrace will return to Colston Hall’s sunny rooftop while Dirtytalk, Christophe, Dave Harvey, Banoffee Pies, Harry McCanna, Mr Price, Future Garden, The Blast DJs, Shapes DJs, Sprung Money and Jake Hodgkinson will all be throwing down sets across the festival.
