The xx confirm new album, will tour this year

The London-based band have also shared a studio playlist including tracks from Frank Ocean, Björk, Radiohead, Solange and more

The xx have confirmed that they are currently in the studio working on their third album. After teasing a few cryptic photos on Instagram over the past few days the band shared a note on social media yesterday to confirm that they are finally making new music together.

“Hello! It’s been a while but you’ve been on our minds.” The note reads, “We’ve been in the studio working on our third album, it feels so good to be together making new music!”

Aside from the new recording The xx have also confirmed a short tour which they say is to test out their new material. The dates take place between 28 November 2015 and 2 April 2016 and will see them play dates in Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Japan, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

The band also shared a playlist to let people know what they’ve been listening to in the studio. It includes tracks from Frank Ocean, Björk, Radiohead, Solange, The Velvet Underground, Drake and lots more. See the band’s note and a photo of them in the studio below.
