New 5,000 capacity venue to open in Canada Water, London

Opening in January of 2017, a new 5,000-capacity multipurpose venue has been announced for London.

Situated in the Docklands area of Canada Water, Printworks is a repurposed printing facility which was previously used by newspapers. With some original machinery maintained and preserved, the venue holds six different event spaces spread across multiple levels.

Resident Advisor are reporting that the venue will offer “arts, fashion, film, food, immersive theatre, dance and more” on top of a music programme which is being curated by LWE, the promoter that puts on Junction 2 Festival and multiple events at Tobacco Dock, along with Broadwick Live, a production house who own major festivals like Festival No.6, Field Day and Snowbombing.

The planning application for the temporary use of the venue for music and arts is currently under consideration by Southwark Council. Approval pending, the programme events will start at the beginning of next year.
