Following a performance at Day for Night festival in Houston, Texas over the weekend, Björk has shared a short statement about the media’s response to her set and women in music at large.
Addressed to “little miss media”, the singer compares the media’s response to her DJ set in with their response to her male counterparts. She goes on to discuss how certain lyrical topics are expected of female artists. Writing, “if we dont cut our chest open and bleed about the men and children in our lives we are cheating our audience.”
