On the eve of Trump’s inauguration and following speculation on fan sites, Arcade Fire have dropped a new track.
I Give You Power was just shared via TIDAL and features vocals from American gospel singer Mavis Staples.
There are rumours of a new Arcade Fire full-length later in the year. This might be a first single or it could be a standalone release in line with tomorrow’s events. The TIDAL hosting is part of Win Butler and Régine Chassagne’s position as partners in the streaming service.
The band shared a statement about the track on their Facebook page which reads,
“It’s never been more important that we stick together and take care of each other.
Love,
Mavis Staples and Arcade Fire”
They also announced that all proceeds from the track will be going to ACLU Worldwide, the American Civil Liberties Union.
