The sub label of трип will focus on “experimental, ambient and psychedelia” – and even branch out into books

Following the founding of imprint трип in 2014, Nina Kraviz has announced that she is launching a second, sub label called GALAXIID.

According to the press materials, GALAXIID will showcase the “listening side” of her musical taste, with a “focus on experimental, ambient and psychedelia.”

The first batch of releases lined up include works by the Russian electronic pioneers Species of Fishes and a collection of obscure releases by Iceland’s Biogen. Also planned is a release of rare early Russian psychedelica from the 70s and psychedelic music from Japan.

Alongside the musical output, there are plans for events and even books under the GALAXIID umbrella. The first GALAXIID event takes place on 25 March at Printworks in London. Performing alongside Nina Kraviz is Dopplereffekt and Luke Vibert, with English rave pioneers 808 State and more.

Back in November, we ran an in-depth feature about Kraviz and her трип label, which you can read here.
