A new documentary-film chronicling the life of Notorious B.I.G. is in the early stages of production.
Variety notes that the film is tentatively titled Notorious B.I.G.: One More Chance and is in development with Submarine Entertainment and ByStorm Film.
The news was announced at Berlin Film Festival. It will be directed by Brendan and Emmett Malloy and will be produced in close collaboration with Notorious B.I.G.’s estate and his mother Voletta Wallace.
At the festival, Emmett Malloy said, “The challenge of making a film about one of the most influential artists of my generation is what I live for as a filmmaker.”
Submarine have been involved in a number of hugely successful music documentaries including Searching for Sugarman, 20 Feet From Stardom and Nas: Time Is Illmatic.
