Teaming up with the David Lynch Foundation and Dazed Media, The James West Hollywood-Sunset have released a short film on their YouTube channel today (21 March).
The Shaniqwa Jarvis-directed video, entitled A New Sunrise Over Sunset, gives viewers a first look inside the new Los Angeles hotel and stars the iconic David Lynch on a tv screen inside the film.
Additionally, the film features the Twin Peaks actor Kyle MacLachlan, artist and designer Cali DeWitt – who also designed Kanye’s Life Of Pablo merch – vocalist Nia Andrews, producer James Fauntleroy, visual artist Brendan Fowler and more.
Divided into three colourful vignettes, the surreal visual explores wellness routines, infinite space, transformative meditation, and the motifs of LA’s expansive, self-sufficient culture. The three chapters are named Connection, Consciousness and Community.
Next to the roll of credits at the end, a clip shows Lynch saying, “We’re all basically the same everywhere and it gives me hope of the possibility of a peaceful and happy world.”
