The Pan Sonic member has sadly passed away today (13 April)
Those close to him have confirmed his death.
Born in 1963, Vainio was an influential figure in the Finnish electronic scene as one half of the music duo Pan Sonic – founded in Turku in 1993.
The cause of his death is currently unknown but we will be updating this post with more information as it comes.
Sad news: Finnish electronic music artist Mika Vainio, formerly of Pan sonic, has passed away at the age of 53. (More info later on.)
