LCD Soundsystem debut three new tracks, ask fans not to film gig

The band unveiled the songs Tonight, Call Police and American Dream

James Murphy’s band performed the first gig of their five-show residency at New York’s Brooklyn Steel last night (6 April). During the first encore, the group debuted the three new tracks.

Before the show, a poster had been given to fans announcing the big reveal. However, the band also specifically requested that fans refrain from recording the show.

The poster reads: “Please don’t film the new songs. It’d be a real gutpunch to all the people who have been working insanely hard for the last 18 months to release this music in the way we want to release it.”

“Please don’t film the old songs. We already made a whole movie out of those and you’re not going to find a “better angle” on your iPhone than Spike Jonze found with his camera.”
