22,000 evacuated from Barcelona festival after fire erupts on stage

No injuries have been reported

Over 22,000 people have been safely evacuated from the Barcelona music festival Tomorrowland last night (29 July) after a fire broke out on the main stage. The fire has since been extinguished and there have reportedly been no injuries.

Numerous festival-goers attending the EDM event at Parc de Can Zam have posted videos of the fire to social media. The videos shows flames engulfing parts of the set before spreading across the left side of the stage and speakers.

According to the festival, the fire was due to a “technical malfunction”. The statement reads: “Authorities will follow up and continue the investigation with the local Spanish organiser of UNITE.”
