Bandcamp will donate this Friday’s proceeds to the Transgender Law Center

This Friday, 4 August, all proceeds made from Bandcamp’s sales will be donated to the Transgender Law Center, it’s been been announced.

In a statement released today, Bandcamp Daily Staff write: “We support our LGBT+ users and staff, and we stand against any person or group that would see them further marginalized.

“This includes the current U.S. administration, and its recent capricious declaration that transgender troops will no longer be able to serve in the military”.

The fundraiser is a response to Donald Trump’s declaration that transgender people will be barred from serving in the US military. The Bandcamp Daily Staff have also recommended a list of albums created by trans and gender non-conforming artists on Bandcamp.

The Transgender Law Center is a nonprofit organization that works to change law, policy, and culture for the more equitable, including fighting for healthcare for trans veterans, defending incarcerated trans people from abuse in prisons and detention centres and offering support to trans immigrants.
