Stormzy awarded Person Of The Year by Oxford University society

The award comes from the university’s African and Caribbean Society

Oxford University’s African and Caribbean Society (ACS) has announced Stormzy as Person Of The Year today (11 July). On Instagram, the grime MC said, “I was in a room full of young black Kings & Queens who inspire me more than they could even imagine. Our future Leaders, CEO’s, Moguls etc. You lot gas me and motivate me. Let’s get it.”

Oxford ACS aims to “enhance the student experience of Oxford by celebrating the richness and diversity of African and Caribbean culture”. The society’s focus is to empower their members and those they work with.

It’s been a breakthrough year for Stormzy with the release of his debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer. Click here to watch his magnificent Glastonbury set in full.
