Stormzy, J Hus, The Big Moon and more announced for Mercury shortlist

The list of nominees for the prestigious award has been revealed

The Mercury shortlist for 2017 has been unveiled. Those who’ve been announced include Stormzy, J Hus, Sampha, Loyle Carner, Ed Sheeran and The Big Moon. The winner will announced on 14 September and be awarded £25,000.

Last year, Skepta was the receipient of the Mercury award for 2016’s Konnichiwa.

This year, the panel will be made up of 12 figures in the music industry, such as artists Lianne La Havas, Jamie Cullum and Jessie Ware, broadcasters Mistajam and Clara Amfo, and a roster of critics and journalists.
