The revered club will be returning on 17 August
The much-loved Hambug club is to be reopened this month. Since February 2016, it has remained shut, but this month it’ll reopen on Thursdays to Sundays for the rest of August.
Furthermore, the venue plans on remaining open seven days a week from September.
Last year, the venue was due to be foreclosed on 20 April and suffered extreme damage following a fire. Subsequently, the venue received €300k in government funding for repairs, and took in donations with fundraising support from artists such as former Crack cover star Helena Hauff.
A legal dispute began in 2014 between owner Rocko Schamoni and business parter Wolf Richter. While Richter ran the for-profit café upstairs, a conflict arose when Schamoni sued Richter for not paying rent.
