Watch Actress’ new Dean Blunt-directed video Falling Rizlas

The track is lifted from Actress’ 2017 album AZD

Ninja Tune have released a black and white visual for Actress’ track Falling Rizlas today (17 August), directed by the elusive Dean Blunt. The slow-paced video portrays a man in a forensic boiler suit finding items in a crime scene, with each object being mysteriously zoomed in upon. The meaning of the objects, however, are never explained through the visual’s narrative.

Furthermore, Actress was interviewed for a Ninja Tune podcast episode yesterday (16 August), during which he discussed gender and politics in electronic music, chaos magic theory and the time he went missing in the Congo for a day.

Blunt has been prolifically releasing material this year. Earlier this week, he dropped a white label vinyl in a limited run of 420 copies, and he’s previously released the Cypher mixtape under his Babyfather project and the 2017 album Hotep under the new alias Blue Iverson. Wahalla, a collaborative album with folk artist Joanne Robertson, was shared online in May and consists of older material.
