Soul singer Charles Bradley has passed away, aged 68

Charles Bradley has passed away.

The soul singer whose career launched with a debut LP in 2011, lost his battle with cancer which he was diagnosed with last year.

Pitchfork notes that he made his diagnosis public after cancelling a string of dates in support of his third and final studio album Changes. Bradley was signed to iconic funk and soul label Daptone Records. In a press release, the details of his passing were explained. The release reads, “Always a fighter, Charles battled cancer with everything he had. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2016 and underwent treatment. Bradley headed out on the road earlier this year after receiving a clean bill of health but the cancer recently returned, spreading to his liver.”

Changes was released last year via Daptone. A short statement has been released through Bradley’s Twitter which you can read below.
