Daphni announces new album Joli Mai, shares single Carry On

To mark the release, Dan Snaith will be performing two extended DJ sets in London

After rolling out a video teaser last week, former Crack cover star Dan Snaith has now announced the follow-up to 2012’s Jiaolong. Joli Mai is due to be released on 6 October via the label Jiaolong, under his Daphni alias.

Earlier this year, Snaith mixed the 93rd instalment of the long-running FabricLive series. Composed entirely of new, self-produced music, the tracklist features 23 original Daphni tracks and four new edits. Joli Mai will feature 11 extended versions of the tracks from the mix as well as the new track Vulture, which first appeared in a Ben UFO mix in 2015. The track has been played in sets by Joy Orbison and has been released as part of Midland’s FabricLive mix.

Furthermore, the artist has shared his first single Carry On. To mark the release of the albumSnaith will be taking to the decks for two extended DJ sets at London’s Five Miles on 7 October, and Corsica Studios on 8 October.

Last week, Snaith posted a cryptic video online under his Caribou moniker. Simply entitled v, the 30-second clip displayed a rainbow-coloured logo distorting against a black background, along to the track Vulture. As it turns out, the ambiguous visual was the new artwork for Joli Mai.

Daphni will be playing at Simple Things this year on 21 October. Pre-order Joli Mai and stream Carry On here.
