EXCLUSIVE STREAM: Julius Steinhoff – Flocking Behaviour

After helping launch Hamburg’s Smallville record store in 2005, Julius Steinhoff has seen the ever-expanding brand turn into a label, international party and a constant source for subtle, classy deep house. Since the release of his solo EPs on Live At Robert Jonson, Geography and White, the work of the Smallpeople member has become synonymous with the same sound.

Following the release of the well received Smallpeople debut album Salty Days, Steinhoff presents his solo debut LP Flocking Behaviour: 8 tracks of stripped back, emotive deep house inspired by the classic sounds of New York, Chicago and Detroit. As Gerd Janson writes in the press release, Flocking Behaviour is “one man’s love letter to his musical passion”, adding that this romantic concept of house music is “as timeless as it is beautiful.”

Flocking Behaviour is out 7 July via Smallville Records. Listen to all 8 tracks below.
