Ann Arbor-based producer D’Marc Cantu has released on the likes of Creme Organisation, M>O>S and Spectral already this year, and his latest release is on the recently rebooted Drone label run by Death In Vegas’ Richard Fearless. The third release on the relaunched label, the B-side is an experiment under Cantu’s Rival alias, credited as the first experiment he made under the new pseudonym. The A-side, Decay has already gathered support from the likes of Roman Fluegel and Erol Alkan. You can see why, its woozy rolling central feature is infectious dancefloor fun. As D’Marc Cantu says of the track, “Sonically I’m reminded of old home videos, a lower quality presentation of a memory. Decay has that quality to it that reminds of a time gone but stills feels familiar and comforting.”
