February Playlist
We’re back with our first playlist of 2015, and this time we’ve rounded up 20 new tracks with the snazzy Audiosplitter player.
Kicking off with a track from Aphex Twin’s recent EP, the playlist follows with Kendrick’s ferocious new tune, a breezy Murlo track, the first single from Atlanta rascals Migos’ debut album and spaced-out loops from Awful Records oddball GAHM. Midway through the selection, the Colombia singer Kali Uchis supplies glittery pop, Courtney Barnett stamps on the overdrive pedal on the excellent new single Pedestrian At Best and Iceage frontman Elias Ronnenfelt tests his vocal capacity with his new project Marching Church. For the more dance-orientated stuff, there are beats from Levon Vincent, Nick Höppner and the new L.I.E.S. release from Slugbug. Enjoy.
February Playlist
February was full of distractions. But in between starting a Twitter campaign, making new merch and trying to track down MF Doom, we did manage – once again – to compile 20 amazing tracks we’ve heard in the last four weeks.
This month’s playlist includes bittersweet scuzz-pop from Frankie Rose’s new project Beverly, a showcase of the more tender side to the South London chaos-mongers Fat White Family, and to celebrate the forthcoming UK release of their album Process, we’ve slipped in a slice of pulverising noise-rock from Brooklyn duo Yvette. Once you’ve chewed through new material from Four Tet & Terror Danjah, Scuba and L.I.E.S, the playlist climaxes with the epic Future-led possee cut Move That Dope, a track reminds us that there’s more to Pharrell than novelty hats and music your nan can whistle along to.
