AZF

Today’s Crack MIx comes courtesy of Parisian selector AZF.

With a rep as one of Rinse France’s most reliable hosts for boundary-pushing techno, AZF – real name Audrey Carcassonne – has been with the station more or less since the launch of its Francophone iteration.

Alongside radio, she also turns her curatorial hand to Jeudi Minuit, a regular club night at Paris’ La Java that has welcomed the likes of Umwelt and Teki Latex to the booth.

AZF’s Crack Mix is an adventurous one, pairing experimental techno from contemporaries such as December and Maoupa Mazzocchetti with pounding classic hardcore and acid slowed down to a 100 bpm dirge (plus a couple of amen rinse-outs thrown in for good measure).

The final result is one of the toughest-sounding mixes we’ve had in a long while, and it’s one that’ll keep you guessing right up until the end. Essential listening.

AZF appears at The Peacock Society, 7-9 July
