Crack Meets NAO

Fresh from discovering that she’d been nominated for the British Female Solo Artist Brit Award, we tracked down London singer NAO at her London rehearsal space as she geared up to tour Australia.

Last summer, her debut album, For All We Know captured the attention of fans and critics here in the UK and all over the world. She spent the summer touring across Europe with the help of Eurosonic Noorderslag, bringing her vivid fusion of R&B, neo-soul and sugary pop to audiences everywhere.

The momentum from that debut is still rolling. When we met NAO she wasn’t just prepping for Australia. Coachella and a North American jaunt are also lined up. On top of that, she’s got a remix EP coming where dons like Kaytranada and Stormzy refix cuts from For All We Know.

Here, NAO sits down with Crack to discuss her upbringing, her live shows and her undying love of old school garage.
