John Cale and Ben Frost announced for Convergence 2018

The music, art and technology festival has made its first announcement

The multi-venue festival has announced their first artists for 2018. Founding Velvet Underground member John Cale has been added to the programme, and he’ll be delivering a career-spanning set with the London Contemporary Orchestra at Barbican Centre. The shapeshifter will be exploring his landmark albums in the arts and culture venue on 9-10 March.

Joining him on the programme is Iceland-based composer Ben Frost, who’ll be collaborating with visual artist Marcel Weber for an audiovisual performance at London’s Heaven, on 16 March. For Convergence, Frost will be playing pieces from his new album The Centre Cannot Hold, which is due to be released tomorrow (29 September).
