First acts announced for Field Day 2016

London’s Field Day have announced PJ Harvey, Skepta, Beach House and more in the first wave of line-up announcements for next year’s festival

For the last ten years Field Day have taken over London’s Victoria Park for a two day festival incorporating the best in cutting edge contemporary music. Next year the festival will take place across the weekend 11 – 12 June and will see a host of big names and up-and-coming acts take to stages dotted around the central London site.

We still can’t believe it’s been ten years already and it looks like the festival’s organisers have really pulled out the stops this year. With a line-up that includes a British legend, a grime frontrunner and some of the most interesting names in underground music Field Day 2016 is set to be one of their biggest years yet.

On Saturday you can catch grime CEO Skepta, electronic music mainstay Four Tet, the ever eclectic Floating Points playing live, indie frontrunners Deerhunter, enigmatic producer Dean Blunt, Holly Herndon and a whole host of other names including Ata Kak, Avalon Emerson, Cass McCombs, DJ Koze, Dusky, Kink, Meliyr Jones, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mount Kimbie, Mura Masa, Orchestra Baobab, Paradise Bangkok Molam, International Band, Red Axes, Roman Flügel, SOAK, Special Request, Wild Nothing, Yorkston Thorne Khan and Youth Lagoon.

On Sunday you’ll be able to catch one of British music’s most revered names in PJ Harvey, Baltimore dream pop duo Beach House, The Thurston Moore Band, GOAT, John Grant, Optimo, Junior Boys, Ben Watt Band feat. Suede’s Bernard Butler, Molly Nilsson and Declan McKenna.

As always Field Day will feature bars, food stalls and activities aplenty but their main focus remains fixed on curating a line-up that reflects a broad spectrum of electronic music and live acts. Their tenth anniversary edition takes place at Victoria Park, London on 11 + 12 June 2016.
