Collaborations. In a digital era, too often they’re the underwhelming result of lazy file swapping intended primarily to get scooped up by webzine’s news feeds. Sometimes, though, they rule. In this month’s playlist, we have rising Chicago star Tink’s voice excel over a beat from DJ Dahi (the man behind Kendrick’s Money Trees), members of No Age and Pissed Jeans teaming up for the mighty Ratfist, a tune from Haunted Hearts (the love-in between Dum Dum Girl’s Dee Dee and her hubby Brandon Welchez of Crocodiles) and while we’d never advocate A-Trak’s pork pie hat/sleeveless denim jacket combo, his collab with Cam’ron has resulted in the best track of the Dipset legend’s comeback.

But that’s not to say the playlist is all about the teams ups. The tracklist also includes material from new London outfit Our Mother, a beat from Delroy Edwards’ awesome chopped n screwed mixtape and Shamir – the Las Vegas kid who might just end up being the biggest star in the world. Enjoy.
