The precedent has been set for ambient electronic music ever since Martin Rev started messing about with weird noises and dragging, subtle beats. What makes Irish-born, Brooklyn-based Orlando Volcano different is that his take incorporates a tuneful, tasteful approach to tumblr-ready electronica. Rolling 4/4 beats over glassy crackles and huge synth pads, he embraces pop whilst remaining loyal to an overarching base of measured, relaxing noise.

His first EP is an eclectic collection of thoroughly modern tracks that straddle Balearic house, post-rock, EDM and beatless ambience. Reverb-heavy guitars clash with waterfall sound effects, glitches, bleeps and effortless changes in time signature.
